Mothers Day Gifts in the Garden
If your mom loves to spend time in her garden, why not help her create a sanctuary that she can enjoy? There are many different things available on the market today that will help you to give your mom a mothers day gift to use in her garden. Here are a few of the bigger ideas we had here at Her Gardening Blog:
Wind Chimes
Help your mom escape to a musical retreat with a new wind chime for her garden. She will love the soft twinkling sounds that will emit from the chimes. There are several different styles to choose from and each chime will play a musical song all of its own. One of our favorite wind chimes are the Amazing Grace Chimes by
Swing

Lawn Furniture
This can be as extravagant as you would like it to be. You could choose pieces that reflect your mother’s style. There are pieces which are intricate in design and there are pieces which are more functional. There are even pieces that you may choose just for the level of comfort they provide such as the Strathwood Chaise Lounge . Choose one individual piece or choose an entire matching set.
Statuary
Give mom a gift that will last throughout all seasons in her garden. There are many different statuary figures to choose from like this Fishing Boy. And you are sure to find something that reflects your mother’s taste and personality. She will enjoy the lifelike figures and they will bring a smile to her face all year as she thinks of your thoughtfulness.

Mothers Day Gifts
This week we are focusing on Mom and offering to you ideas to treat her right this Mothers Day. There are many different gifts that you can make for mom that will help her smile all season long. I found this great idea for a Mother’s Day Container by P. Allen Smith. Here is some of what he has to say to help you make this fabulous gift for that special mother in your life.
For a special gift your mother will enjoy all summer long, present her with this beautiful container garden you planted yourself. I designed this simple yet stunning arrangement with just three varieties of plants so you can easily create the same gorgeous results. The super-sized blooms of the New Guinea impatiens blend perfectly with the exquisitely colored fronds of the Japanese painted fern. Cascading along the front of the container is a variegated ivy called ‘Gloire de Marengo’. Its glossy green leaves are edged in creamy white, adding just the right sparkle to this shade loving composition.Materials:
18″ diameter terra cotta pot
small piece of window screen, pot shards or large gravel
16 quart bag of potting mix blended for containers
water retentive polymers*
slow release fertilizer*
(1) 10 – 12 inch hanging basket of lavender New Guinea impatiens
(1) gallon sized container of Japanese painted fern
(3) 6 inch pots of ?Gloire de Marengo’ ivy*If your soil mix contains water retentive polymers as well as slow release fertilizer, there is no need to add these ingredients.
Now in order to finish this project, I recommend visiting his site for the complete directions. You can find those directions here. That special mom in your life will love this planter and you will enjoy knowing that not only did you help to make her garden a little more beautiful, but you truly gave her a gift that is reflective of what is in your heart. You just can’t miss with that! What are some other ideas that you have for gifts for mom and her garden?
