Home Grown Tomatoes

Since we have been talking about tomatoes in the garden this week, I thought it would be appropriate to share this video with you. It is a fun and upbeat favorite song of mine. And this video is a nice little tribute to John Denver as well. There are several pictures of our country boy that aren’t seen all that often. A nice touch indeed. I hope you enjoy this video that I am sharing with you today.
What is your favorite thing to do with homegrown tomatoes? What is your favorite thing about them? Leave me a comment and share.

I love tomatoes. I like having fresh tomatoes to put on my sandwiches. YUM!
Tomatoes are delicious with just about anything. My boyfriend makes the BEST home made pasta with fresh tomatoes in it. That would have to be my favorite!
My entire family hates tomatoes but I love them. My favorite is making homemade salsa and BLT’s:)
Having grown up in an Italian family, my favorite thing to do with the tomatoes from the backyard garden is simply to cut them in half, put a pinch of rock salt on them, and swallow them down! Tomatoes from the market no longer taste like anything at all, unfortunately. So — home grown or farmer’s market is the only way to go! Heirloom tomatoes all the way!
I absolutely despised tomatoes when I was growing up. I never tasted a fresh tomato until I was 24! I’ve been hooked since. Whether eating them straight out of my MIL’s garden or slapping them on toast with Miracle Whip and pepper, I am addicted. Don’t even get me started on the cherry tomatoes growing in a pot on my back deck! YUMM!
