I just planted two bare root roses! I planted one last year and it’s doing great. I agree that it’s best to buy them direct from the garden center rather than via mail because you never know what conditions they’ll be put in during the journey to your house!
I always advocate buying your bare root plants from your local garden center. They generally offer higher quality and they can offer great advice on how to best care for the plants.
That being said, there are some great deals through the mail if you want to take advantage of them and are willing to take a risk.
